These terms apply in addition to our Terms of Service when you register, renew or transfer a domain name through Hostingoor.
1. Registry rules
Each domain extension is run by a registry with its own rules, which you agree to follow. In particular:
- .uk domains are governed by the Nominet terms and conditions.
- Generic domains (.com, .net, .org and others) are subject to ICANN policies. See the ICANN Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities and the ICANN educational materials.
2. Registrant details
You must give accurate and complete registrant contact details and keep them up to date. Registries may suspend or cancel a domain with false or out-of-date details. You may be asked to verify your email address within 15 days of registration or a change of details; if you do not, the domain may be suspended.
3. Registration is first come, first served
A domain shown as available may be taken by someone else before your order is completed. If we cannot register it, we refund you or add the amount to your account credit.
4. Renewals and expiry
- Domains renew automatically if auto-renew is on and your renewal invoice is paid.
- After expiry a domain may enter a grace period and then a redemption period, during which restoring it can cost more. After that it may be deleted and become available to anyone.
- We send reminders before expiry, but it is your responsibility to renew in time.
5. Transfers
You can transfer a domain away by requesting the authorisation (EPP) code or, for .uk domains, changing the IPS tag. Registry rules may prevent transfers within 60 days of registration or a transfer. We do not charge a fee to transfer a domain away.
6. Disputes
Disputes about who is entitled to a domain are decided under the registry's dispute policy, such as the Nominet Dispute Resolution Service or ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP). You are responsible for making sure your domain does not infringe anyone else's rights.
7. Refunds
Domain registrations, renewals and transfers are not refundable once submitted to the registry, as explained in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
